Cartier began engraving cards as far back as 1918, and archival pieces from the 1920's show copperplate etchings of coach and hunt scenes as well as many hand painted art deco and cityscapes. Cartier is well known for their heavy weight paper stock and admired for the design quality and simple elegance that is the height of distinguished correspondence.
This set is truly remarkable! Beautiful thick linen stock with rag torn edges on note cards and envelopes .... embossed Cartier Art Deco Panther in rich laid 24kt gold.
