FineOfficeAntiques focusses on typewriters older than 1920. Perfectly working examples are very rare. Especially when they are in original not-refurbished condition. We try to describe condition clearly in the listing. To avoid misunderstanding we always underreport.

Here are some key points to take into account. We do not repair or refurbish the typewriters. The maintenance that we do is cleaning and oiling the wood and metal to stop rust.

We only use the word 'working' when you can type on it as is (but it probably needs maintenance: new ribbon, and some adjusting - things a handy person can do).
'Mechanically working' is when everything seems to move as it should, but it deffinitly needs maintenance by a proffessional to work.
