From pre-Christian times until today, board-woven borders have been and are a decoration on many items of clothing, e.g. E.g. Cotten and coats. This technique was used in Central Europe until the 15th century and slowly disappeared. In many other countries, however, the tradition of board weaving has remained unbroken to this day.
