'Tales from the Uncanny' is one off comic book which I created for my Masters's degree in Illustration. Written and illustrated by myself and printed by an external company.

I was inspired by classic horror comic books, I wanted to create a modern horror tale which isn't conventional in horror aesthetics and can be read by readers as young as 13, but also appealing to older readers as well. It explores the fear of the unknown using vivid, bright colours and strange dream sequences. I love horror literature and wanted to create something in that essence without it being conventionally dark and moody, challenging what we perceive as horror.

Overview of Story
The story follows Freddie, who finds herself trapped in a pink bubble in the air. She is dreaming about ladybirds, over and over again. After finally breaking free she wakes up not the the world she was familiar with, but a new world. Full of candy floss skies and pink bubbles floating in the air. The bubbles all have people trapped in them, dreaming about their fears over and over again in their own personal 'Bubble Hell'. With the help on an unusual friend, she embarks to find the one responsible for this. He is the Uncanny Man, and he will follow you in your dreams with a permanent grin...
