The ring arrived without a gold stamp. I sent seller an email about this but there was no reply. I then had the ring tested to discover it wasnt gold and likely heavily plated in gold as it was sticking to a magnet at a well known national jewellers. I asked for a refund but he would not give me this. Etsy had to step in as I opened a case and they gave me the refund I was entitled to. New evidence also emerged from the seller that the ring also had white gold in it which was not stated on the description and not what I wanted.

Hi. The ring is antique and not all antique rings are stamped with the gold content. That is why I test all of my items. I use an XRF spectrometer to test my gold items which is very expensive and effective. It is clear defamation from the local jeweller and also pretty amateur just to put a magnet on it. I have a 30 day return policy and I am always happy to accept returns as I know that it is not always easy to buy an item without seeing it in person. I am really unsure as to why etsy refunded the buyer when I provided photographic evidence of the gold being tested and coming out at 18ct. I pride myself on being as honest and transparent as possible and I feel this buyer simply changed their mind on an item and made up a story which somehow they got away with.
