Through unique drawings and documented research, I invite you on a journey into one of the greatest Western mythological stories thanks to an original map that you can display at home or give to a loved one.
This Homeric tale from Ancient Greece constitutes the penultimate opus of the Trojan cycle (The Iliad is the only other opus preserved among the eight in the cycle) and is written in verse (dactylic hexameters) and is divided into twenty-four cantos.

A reckless but still somewhat proud Ulysses, it must be admitted, who will meet sea monsters, witches, provoke the wrath of Helios and Poseidon, go to Hell, see his companions die, but who will finally find Penelope again after having massacred the Suitors...

A month of work was necessary to immerse oneself in this work, do the research and render the visual that I wanted to give, the 14 stages of the return from Troy and all the additional drawings are all hand-drawn (the final stage was broken down into 3 parts). In the color versions, the stages were categorized according to their song of belonging.

The verse excerpts come from the La Découverte edition, some passages are so beautiful that it was difficult to choose!

The Odyssey is a nested, complex and atypical story, some places are controversial or imaginary (like the Underworld), I cross-referenced the majority opinions of specialists to establish the route and the stopover locations.

This map is to my knowledge the most accurate ever published in French, I hope you will appreciate it. I will see how it is received, if it finds a favorable echo among the French-speaking public, I will decline it in English and German, these two versions are already under consideration.

This creation is the first in the “At the Heart of Myths” collection.
