EMMA'S BABY BEANIE

Emma’s Baby Beanie is worked from the bottom up. First an i-cord is worked to form the bottom edge of the beanie. Stitches are then picked up into the i-cord edge and knitted in the round to form the body of the hat. The ear flaps are worked using short rows and the crown is worked with simple decreases. At the end, stitches are picked up into the edge of each ear flap to knit an i-cord tie on each side.

SUGGESTED NEEDLES
For the sizes 0-3 months (3-6 months) 6-12 months: one set of 3,5 mm (US size 4) double pointed needles (or the required size to obtain gauge)

For the size 1-2 years: 3,5 mm (US size 4) / 40 cm (16 inch) circular needles, one set of 3,5 mm (US size 4) double pointed needles (or the required size to obtain gauge)

YARN
17 (22) 28 (33) grams of Fingering weight yarn held together with 11 (14) 18 (21) grams of silk mohair.

Suggested yarns:
Sunday from Sandnes (100 % Merino wool, 50 grams = approx. 235 m / 257 yards) or Cotton Merino from Knitting for Olive (70 % Cotton and 30 % Merino wool, 50 grams approx. 250 m / 273 yards)
paired with
