The Maiah hat was the first accessory I knitted for my son when he was one year old. He immediately took off all the other hats and tossed them out of the stroller in a high arc. But not this hat. Finally, I had a hat that stayed on to warm his little ears. When he later started talking, he called himself Maiah. And thus, the name for the Maiah hat was born.
