The Maiah Vest is a kimono-style wrap vest. It is worked flat in garter stitch. Knitting begins at the lower back and proceeds upwards, with both sides then worked separately towards the front. Short rows are worked at the lower back to make it slightly longer than the front. Finally, the vest is seamed at the sides using the mattress stitch, and the sides are fastened with buttons. The hood (optional) is created by picking up and knitting stitches.
